It was only a matter of time before we knighted Alison with Client of the Month.
Alison is so deserving of this recognition. She joined our team just over a year ago and although she is a keen long distance runner she still had a ropey start and a little wobble in her first session. She has completely undeterred and been with us ever since.
Below is the email we sent Alison explaining why we think she should be this months holder. She works incredibly hard in all of her sessions and does it all with much a huge smile.
Most importantly I have noticed from the side line how welcoming she is to all of our new members that are joining us at the moment. Alison is alway starting conversation and making them feel at ease.

Name: Alison
Age: 34
When did you Start and why?
I joined in November 2017. I’d avoided exercise for most of my life and started doing a bit of running a few years ago, so I decided it was time to try something different that would help me get fitter and also improve my running.
What do you enjoy the most over all about taking part?
I get a real buzz from every session! It’s great to train with support from a lovely bunch of people and an instructor who knows how to motivate everyone as individuals.

What made you choose Ocean Fit:
I like to support local independent business and the town centre location is very handy. Aaron was really friendly from the first contact I had with him, so I knew I had to give it a go!
What is your biggest achievement:
Consistently attending a couple of times a week and never getting bored feels like a big achievement! I’ve run over 100 miles in races from April to September this year to raise money for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation so all of the training I’ve done here has been a massive help in building my strength and fitness to get through it, especially the hilly runs!
What is your favorite exercise or move & why?
The prowler. It’s tough, but a good way to see progress over time and definitely helps my running.
What is your LEAST favourite exercise & why?
Bear crawl or sliders… They’re both just horrible!
Would you recommend us to a friend and why?
Definitely! I hated even hearing the word squat before I started and the thought of any kind of circuit filled me with dread. Now I look forward to every session and can honestly say training here has changed my whole attitude to exercise.

Whats your favourite thing to cook?
I get bored easily so anything quick… Thai curry or stir fry.
Describe Ocean Fit in 1 sentence:
Friendly, welcoming and a great place to train for people of all abilities.
Any additional comments – memories, funny moments etc..
During my trial session I actually fainted! Everyone was so lovely and made sure I was ok. I’m so glad I came back… I never thought I’d be the kind of person to enjoy exercise like this and it’s safe to say the younger lazier version of me would hate me now! After nearly a year, I can’t imagine not being part of Ocean Fit.
I am glad Alison chose to mention that she fainted during her first session because it shows some great character.
You can’t stop at the top and have to build yourself up. She came back in the following week and has been smashing everything ever since.
She could have just said, ‘naa thats not for me’ and sacked it off.
Take action and don’t let small bumps in the road hinder the whole experience.
Kudos.
