October Client of the Month – Hollie!
It gives us great pleasure to give the better half of the Lancasters’ the crown of Client of The Month.
Hollie has been with us for over a year now and brings nothing but smiles, sweat and warm energy to our studio.
It was a no brainer to extend this honour to Hollie, since starting back up in August she has grabbed the bull by the horns and embraced each and every session. Although she may burst through the door 1 minute late every day (well almost) she makes up for it straight away and doesn’t leave unless she has absolutely goosed herself.
We are lucky to have such a smiley and positive person in our team and absolutely love working with her.
Name: Hollie Lancaster
When did you Start and why?
I started at Ocean Fit back in April 2019, with the 6-week body confidence course like quite a lot of members. A neck injury had stopped me being motivated to do anything for about a year, I was getting ill all the time and my cheese scone addiction was starting to show. I powered through face-planting push-ups and falling off the rowing machine (more than once), managed 5 days a week for the 6 weeks and was hooked.
What made you choose Ocean Fit:
My delightful husband Phil (Beach Camp member) suggested the 6-week Body Confidence programme, mostly as a joke. He genuinely thought I wouldn’t manage it – I love proving him wrong!
What do you enjoy the most over all about taking part?
The atmosphere in the studio is awesome, like we are all in this together and there is no judgy or competitive pressure. I honestly look forward to it every day; I love the buzzing (or annoying, depending on what poor person I’m with) mood afterwards, no matter how pooped you are.
What is your biggest achievement to date?
I was desperate to meet my new godson, born in lockdown, just north of Perth, so I thought, why not make an adventure of it and cycle to meet him! So I did, two weeks later – 200 miles in 2 and a half days, all on my own, my furthest ride by far, and despite the torrential rain, it was awesome and I was so proud of myself. A testament to the fitness levels, recovery speed and motivation learnt thanks to excessive Fit Camping!
What is your favourite exercise or move & why?
I think from doing so much sport as a kid I’ve always had big and strong legs, so love anything lunging or squatting or those box jump things! So hey, I might not fit in skinny jeans, but I’m very happy to be able to power up hills on my bike!
What is your LEAST favourite exercise & why?
Bear Crawls – walking on your hands and feet, really fast usually – horrible things – I am the most uncoordinated, clumsy and gangly person anyway but these just make me look like a giraffe stuck in mud.
What is your favourite thing to cook?
I love food and cooking, especially making bread! I definitely make it known that ‘second breakfast’ after Fit Camp is an official meal. An extra bonus to going to Fit Camp is that now I’m really thinking about what I’m eating (and getting to eat more!).
Would you recommend us to a friend and why?
Yes! Yes! Yes! Ocean Fit gets you to help yourself to be happier, healthier, leaner and stronger, all in a fab studio with great company. You get to jump, push, and throw stuff / yourself around for fun – you can NEVER guess what’s coming! And sometimes you even get to choose the music…
Describe Ocean Fit in 1 sentence:
All smiles and sweat, Ocean Fit is the best part of the day!
Any additional comments – memories, funny moments etc..
Fridays are the best – you literally could be challenged to anything, and it is ALWAYS fun and completely exhausting…point and case, my favourite broken photo…
I am sure if you have met Hollie that you will 100% agree that she is so deserving of this and such a cool person to be around.
We hope that you have enjoyed her story and it has inspired you to join our team.
