July’s Client of the Month – KATE!
Friendly, welcoming, works incredibly hard and almost always on time!
Kate has made a huge impact to our team since starting with us back in late Summer 2020, I have seen her develop her skill, form and confidence with exercise and her ability in vast amounts in the past 10 months.
She always makes an effort to make others feel welcome, say hello to new faces and chat to other members in sessions, this really goes a long way in order to sculpt a new members journey. So I am always thankful and appreciative to see this amongst team mates.
Since start back up again post covid lockdown Kate has been on top top form and puts in every effort in order to maximise her sessions and improve. Even if it means finishing off a few reps alone or doing an extra hill sprint.
Recently she made us a cake to celebrate out 5th Beach Camp Birthday since starting in 2016. As we couldn’t have a proper socail it was well received by all members on the day! Mmmm Cake!

Surprised and honoured. I will wear my t-shirt with great pride. Thanks Aaron for all of your encouragement and especially for standing on my toes so that I can do reverse sit-ups.
3.Why did you choose Ocean Fit?
I was walking on the beach one day during lockdown and I saw beach camp out doing their thing. I moved to Cullercoats in March 2020 so hadn’t really been able to meet new people or get out much, and this seemed like a great opportunity. When I got in touch, Aaron was super friendly and I felt welcomed from the very first session. There was a gorgeous sunrise and despite the hill sprints and running in the soft sand, I absolutely loved it!
The community is amazing. Everyone works hard and we have a lot of fun doing it. I also love being on the beach and being able to enjoy the beauty right on my doorstep.
There a couple of contenders but I think after a recent session it would have to be explosive star jumps!
I think seeing my fitness and mental health improve over time. When I started in September 2020, I was really struggling to run due to calf pain, but as my strength and fitness has gotten better, I can run a lot further. I have been for a couple of 5km runs recently and know that I couldn’t have done that 1 year ago! I also know that my mental health is so much better for regular exercise and I really feel it when I miss a session or two.
Jokes aside, I want to keep focussing on being healthy and happy in mind and body, and maybe one day being able to join the *fast* running group at beach camp!
Probably the time that I arrived late to beach camp, jumped off the brae and fell, face planting onto the sand with Aaron behind me watching! I hadn’t been going long at that point so I just ran off super embarrassed!
